Wanderlust Wednesdays | Taveuni Island, Fiji
Posted: Mar 25 2015
Taveuni Island, Fiji. . .what a dream! We wanted to check out a place that had lush greenery and gorgeous waters (basically every place we wanderlust to!). Taveuni Island is also known as the "Garden Island" and is the third largest island in Fiji. Along with the pristine beaches, many people come here to hike to the Tavoro Falls, since it is rated one of the top things to do on the island. The trail starts out above the village of Korovou, and begins with an fairly easy trek to the first set of waterfalls, Bouma Falls. From there up, the journey takes you to the other waterfalls and lookouts with incredible views that are worth the hike. Another amazing aspect of this island is the lush vegetation and bird life, Taveuni is known for its beautiful surroundings that you can only find in Fiji. Our particular favorite local bird was the Orange Dove, such amazing color inspiration! If you need some more activities to do when your taking a break from the gorgeous beaches, check out this list Here. There is something for everyone, fishing, diving, surfing, cultural tours, and nature walks. The perfect vacation location! Now Grab your Sorella Swim and go hang ten in Fiji!
